Rapid Covid Testing

Antigen  Test

(frequently referred to as a rapid test).

This COVID 19 test detects certain proteinsin the virus. Using a long nasal swab to get a fluid sample, some antigen tests can produce results in minutes. Others may be sent to a lab for analysis.

A positive antigen test result is considered accurate when instructions are carefully followed, but there’s an increased chance of false-negative results — meaning it’s possible to be infected with the virus but have a negative result.

Depending on the situation, the doctor may recommend a PCR test to confirm a negative antigen test result.

RT-PCR Test

PCR  Test

PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in SARS-CoV-2 detection.

This test actually detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection, even for those who have no symptoms. The turnaround time is longer, generally, it’s 10-24 hours, but we can provide results as fast as in 10 hours with our Rapid PCR Test.

FAQ

Here are some answers to Frequently Asked Questions.

What is PCR Test

A diagnostic test shows if you have an active coronavirus infection and whether you should quarantine or isolate yourself from others. PCR tests detect the virus’s genetic material and are considered to be the gold standard for COVID-19 testing.

Antigen Vs Antibody - What's the difference

An antibody test can be used to find out if a person has been infected with the virus; this usually occurs by detecting antibodies in the blood or serum. In turn, the antigen test will show: whether the infectious pathogen is currently in the human body. As soon as a person is cured, the antigen disappears from the blood.

How wil I find out my result

You will receive an e-mail with login information to our portal once the results are back from the lab. You will be able to download your report as a .pdf to easily share it with your employer, family, and whoever you wish.

What about accuracy

The rate of false negatives — a test that says you don’t have the virus when you actually do have the virus — varies depending on how long the infection has been present. On average, symptoms of the virus develop five to six days post-exposure. Our test has been shown to have a false-negative rate of less than 5 percent five days after the exposure.

What is a nasal swab COVID test

A nasal swab looks like a long Q-tip. It is inserted about two inches into your nose and swirled around for a few seconds. The swab is then removed and sent to a lab. You may experience a tickling sensation while the swab is in your nose and after it is removed; you might sneeze or have runny eyes for a moment or two. Nasal swabs are fast and accurate, and they’re a good option for most people.

When the better time to COVID-Testing

The CDC recommends getting a coronavirus test for the following reasons:

  • If you’re experiencing symptoms of COVID-19.
  • If you’ve had close contact with someone — within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes — with a positive COVID-19 test.
  • If you’ve been asked by your healthcare provider to get a test.
